BitTorrent Gets Legal

In what could become an interesting turn in the piracy area of the internet, the official BitTorrent source BitTorrent, Inc. has sealed its deals and put up its new site today, offering legal pay-to-download of a good collection of movies, music, and games. They also have a way to upload your own content to be included in the database for people to download for free. It could be a turning point, sort of a next step from iTunes, or it could be quickly forgotten about as just one more place to throw away a couple of dollars on the internet. I don’t think they were quite ready to go live, though, since in just browsing around I’m getting lots of page errors, especially they wonderful ‘Error 500: Internal Server Error.’ It looks good on the surface, but keep working on it BitTorrent.

Ohio and Ontario

This weekend I spent 14 hours driving, or, mostly riding, with Travis to Ohio. His lease ran out on his car so he was returning it to where he first got it and picking up the new one that his Dad had already leased for him. Guess what! There’s snow in Ohio. Days old, frozen over, inches of snow. (Photo in the sidebar.) Did I mention it’s cold in Ohio?
The wierd thing is, on the way back we passed somewhere around 10 cars from Ontario. And I’m not just saying we passed a group of ten cars from Ontario heading south, it’s more like we got on the road at 10:30 am and saw randomly dispersed cars about every 30 minutes for the entire duration of the trip, from Ohio, to Papermill exit on I-40. Some kind of Ontarian convention going on down here that I don’t know about?
